6. Who Can Access Shared Information

Most profile, chat, media, and live-location information is shared according to your connections, tribe memberships, and privacy controls. If you intentionally create a time-limited location link, anyone with the exact link can access that share until it expires. Content you publish to community surfaces, such as public event boards or published Help maps, is visible according to those surfaces' settings.

7. Location Sharing, On Your Terms

Sharing your location is optional and controlled by your app and device settings. When you enable the required permission, location updates can continue while FindTribe is in the background or your phone is in your pocket. You can choose which tribes receive your location, create time-limited links for people you trust, and turn sharing off using the app's controls. A location link you have sent remains accessible to anyone with the exact link until it expires automatically at the end of the duration you selected, so share it only with people you trust.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy. You can request the deletion of your data or close your account at any time.

9.1 Account Deletion

If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please follow these steps:

• Open the app, go to “You,” and open “Settings.”
• Select “Delete account” and follow the confirmations.
• Make sure you are online so the deletion can complete.

Data Deletion Details:

Account deletion removes your account and initiates deletion of associated account data. Some shared posts, messages, reports, or media may remain under this Privacy Policy, and information may be retained when required by law.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store, Google Play, or website membership. Cancel any membership separately first. If you own maps, delete them from each map's Admin screen before deleting the account.
